National Massage Therapy Awareness Week starts October 19th and last to October 25th. The purpose of this week is to raise public awareness of the benefits of therapeutic massage and encourage people to take the extra time to care for their health through massage.
Therapeutic massage helps to balance the effects of stress in our lives and to avoid stress-related disease and dysfunction. It can aid in specific acute or chronic situations that cause unique physical, mental and systematic challenges.
The National Massage Therapy Awareness Week is sponsored by the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).
